Brigadier PAJ Peiris took over the office as the Regimental Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, with effect from 16 January 2017.He was enlisted to the Army on 16 March 1987 and commissioned to the Sri Lanka Signal Corps as a Second Lieutenant on 10 December 1988 having completed his Basic Military Training at Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa. He was subsequently promoted to the ranks of Lieutenant on 10 June 1990, Captain on 10 June 92, Major on 10 June 1996, Lieutenant Colonel on 27 July 2007, Colonel on 13 June 2010 and Brigadier on 06 September 2016.Brigadier PAJ Peiris who counts over 29 years of notable service in the Army was well recognized for his performances and talents that he displayed throughout. Brigadier PAJ Peiris who has vast experiences in various capacities holding Command and Staff appointments, was the Deputy Centre Commandant before he was appointed as the Regimental Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps.He has served a number of Staff appointments in different capacities such as Signal Officer 22 Brigade, Adjutant 1SLSC, Signal Officer at the Joint Operation Headquarters in Vavuniya, General Staff Officer III at Directorate of Operations, Staff Officer III at Signal Brigade, Signal Officer at HQ Task Force 1, during his tour of duty. addition he was the Second in Command 6 SLSC (RFT) and 3 SLSC, Commanding Officer 1 SLSC, Commanding Officer 5 SLSC (RFT), Colonel General Staff at Defence Service Command and Staff College Batalanda, Colonel General Staff Headquarters 57 Division and Officiating Brigade Commander 681 Brigade.He has actively contributed to country's prolong war against the terrorism and most of the time he has served in the Northern and the Eastern theatres of Operations as a Signaler as well as an Infantryman.Brigadier PAJ Peiris is an old boy of prestigious Ananda Sastralaya Kotte and Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya,. He is well known as "Ashoka" among his superiors and peers and he is married to Sajeewani and blessed with a daughter and son.
